Saturday, April 24 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. First Presbyterian Church 500 Park Street in Charlottesville The Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville will donate the proceeds of its Sixth Annual Dogwood Pancake Breakfast to the Journeys Program at the Hospice of the Piedmont. Local celebrity pancake flippers will amaze and delight the young and the young at heart. Breakfast will be followed by the Dogwood Festival Parade, just 2 blocks away on East High Street. Call 434.295.9314 or visit the Kiwanis Club website for more information. Tickets are just $5 (children under 6 eat free) and are available at the door. The Hospice Journeys Program supports children ages 4 through 18, who are affected by the serious illness or death of a loved one. Throughout the year, grief support groups are facilitated by registered art therapists and bereavement counselors who use art and other creative means to help children express their inner feelings. |
