Happy Fourth of July! Following is a listing of July 4th community celebrations that will be held in the Greater Charlottesville area. We have made every effort to contact all communities regarding their July 4th events. If you do not see your community event listed here, please encourage your local community leaders to contact CvilleCalendar.com with their information in the future. Ash Lawn – Highland Independence Day Celebration! July 3rd - 1:00:00 PM Join us at Monroe’s home, Ash Lawn – Highland, for a celebration of our nation’s 234th birthday. In addition to special tours of the house, we will also offer many kid-friendly activities – including face painting, coloring, and all-American arts & crafts. Bring a picnic with you to enjoy beautiful views and family fun. CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS AT McINTIRE PARK Gates open at 6 PM for an evening of family friendly fun with food, local bands, and games for kids of all ages. Park free at Charlottesville High School. Shuttles available from Albemarle County Office Building. Fireworks begin one minute after dark. http://www.newsplex.com/fireworks for more information. CITY OF CULPEPPER July 4th – 8 AM to 10 PM Downtown Culpeper Freedom 5K Race, youth soccer and little league, Renaissance Car & Bike Show, Art Show, State Theater Open House, Parade, Culpeper Olympics, dinner and music in the park, fireworks. EARLYSVILLE PARADE July 4th – 1 PM Begins at the Earlysville Post office and proceeds down Buck Mountain Road to Buck Mountain Episcopal Church on Buck Mountain Road. Anyone can join in on their John Deere, bike, wagon, feet... Hog dogs available at the church. (434) 973-2054 for more information. Pony Rides 4:00 - 6:00 PM Fireworks around 9 PM MONTICELLO'S 48TH ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AND NATURALIZATION CEREMONY July 4th – 9 AM Open to the public free of charge.
