If so, it's time to shift gears to fit the demands of the next generation of buyers and sellers. Economic foolishness and self-inflicted wounds Today's report of job gains in March has the usual suspects overheated and long-term rates rising a little. Picking up 216,000 new jobs is good news, but New York Federal Reserve President Bill Dudley's reference to recovery as "tenuous" is dead on the mark. Continued » Case-Shiller: Real estate prices 'dismal' in January Home prices in 20 major metropolitan areas fell 3.1 percent year-over-year in January, prompting Standard & Poor's to declare "home prices off to a dismal start in 2011" in its latest S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices report released today. Continued » BHG franchise launches rental site New York City-based Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty has rolled out a site devoted to rental properties, the brokerage announced. Continued » Another day, another call for real estate reform I doubt if a day goes by that I don't read about how the real estate industry needs reform, how it needs to change, and how real estate agents are incompetent, or dishonest, or both. I am tired of reading it, and bored with it, too. I am open to specific criticisms and suggestions for improvement, but I am not finding any.
